The Ultimate SEO Guide as it Relates To Search Engine Optimization Types
I believe I’ve been able to breakdown the term “SEO” and also explained why it is important for internet marketers and businesses online. This takes us to the next phase which is the different SEO techniques.
Generally; there are so many SEO techniques internet marketers employ. Some black hats others white hat, but am going to be dealing generally on two major types of SEO namely;
- ON-PAGE SEO
- OFF-PAGE SEO
In this ultimate SEO guide, note that these two SEO types cover a whole lot in the blogging sphere. when it comes to search engine optimization and targeting keywords for ranking in search engine result pages.
On-page SEO is a search engine optimization technique that involves optimizing your website in other to increase the number of site visitors otherwise called; “Traffic”. It’s more about making your website as easy as being accessible, user-friendly, responsive and also search engine friendly. On-page SEO also requires constant revision of your blog, in other to maintain a good position in search engine result page (SERP). However, there is a different approach to On-Page SEO that can be helpful and we’ll quickly run through that.
Among the different choices of on-page SEO come’s this very vital marketing strategy. It is often advised you take out time to; review and choose the best keyword for your blog post SEO needs. So keywords are what search engine bots and crawlers use, to find a query from the search engine’s index. Take for instance; I am a blogger, who choose to target low competitive keywords as my seed keyword let’s say I target; “on-page SEO techniques”, now I have to write a well-structured article around that keyword and ensure my keyword appears in paragraphs subtitles and even in my contents.
The next thing to do is to publish this blog post on the internet, within my blog. Search engine index my article as soon as I submit a sitemap, and rank my webpage, or blog post by crawling and understanding my webpages or blog post.
Title optimization is another important part of on-page SEO after keyword optimization. So when choosing a title for your blog post, niche or website title; it is advisable to make it simple, short, and descriptive enough to make site visitors know what your blog post, contents, articles, website or online company entails. Simply because the title tag is what search engine index or pay attention to.
Meta Description and Meta Tag:
It is also important that you use a very good descriptive Meta tag. One that focuses more on your content/article and your keyword as well. So ensure to make your keyword appear on your meta description or meta tag. This helps your site users catch a glimpse of what your blog post, content or articles are all about. Especially when viewed from the search engine result pages, SERPs.
Note: Meta tag/descriptions are the first thing search engine users see in the search engine result page. That is; when internet users key in a particular keyword into a search engine, the result of the keyword, appears in a search engine along with Meta tag/description beneath the title, and link in Search Engine Result Pages. It is also what determines if an internet user would click on your link from SERP or scroll to the next result.
So when writing your meta description, ensure it is straight to point, simple, descriptive enough and also engaging enough to prick the interest of internet users to click on your link from SERP and this will also drive potential traffic to your blog. Also, ensure the meta description exists in the first paragraph of your blog post.

Proper interlinking (internal links) and outbound links (external links), is a vital way of making your users stay more in your blog thereby, keeping your users engaged, and also aid rankings in SERP whether inbound or outbound links.
Alt Tag or Alt Text for Images:
Adding alt text to every image you use in your blog post is one healthy SEO routine bloggers and website owners should always practice as this is another way of making use of keyword optimization. Now when search engines read or crawl through your websites, links, contents, and blog post, it enables Google to pick up the relevant keywords that are related to the image used, and this will also help search engines bot better understand your webpages and contents.
For example, when Google bots crawl your webpages, it sees image file as the “Name.jpg”. Giving your images a descriptive name will help search engine bots better understand what your image files and webpages are all about.
H1, H2, H3 Tags:
These are heading tags and it varies in sizes although, some persons think it’s the least factor to consider while optimizing a blog post for on-page SEO and so bloggers pay less attention to it. Well, it’s high time you start paying attention to the H1, H2, and H3 tags as these are also important for on-page SEO.
